What It Is

Everyone is asking whether AI is safe. Almost no one is asking whether it leaves us free.

Safety focuses on what a machine does. Freedom focuses on what happens to the person on the other side of it: whether a system that ranks, drafts, scores, and decides expands the space in which you can act—or quietly narrows it, then calls the result convenience.

Freedom is not a feeling. It is a measurable condition: something we can define, debate, and evaluate. Until we do, we risk rewarding obedience and mistaking it for ethics.
